
Authorities in Govindpur have scored a significant victory in their war against drugs, arresting four individuals involved in the brown sugar trade. The sting operation, designed to disrupt the illicit sale of narcotics, led to the immediate apprehension of the suspects. Alongside the brown sugar, which was found in 81 individual packets, police also confiscated ₹2,550 and four mobile devices. The accused have been identified as Gaurav Kumar alias Amar (26), from Govindpur’s Sheshnagar; Mohammad Imran (21), based in Burma Mines’ Carriage Colony; and Jambhuvan Mahto (24) and Lalan Manjhi (28), both hailing from Tamulia, Kapaali in Seraikela-Kharsawan. This successful raid was a direct response to escalating concerns over drug trafficking within the community. During preliminary questioning, the arrested smugglers revealed valuable intelligence regarding their operational network and distribution channels. Law enforcement is committed to apprehending all remaining individuals linked to this operation and assures the public that similar anti-drug drives will continue with increased intensity.
