The city of Ranchi is all set to celebrate the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath on June 27th. The grand procession will see Lord Jagannath, his sister Subhadra, and elder brother Balabhadra riding in chariots to Mausi Badi. The Jagannathpur Temple Committee, along with the district administration, are actively involved in making arrangements for the event. Preparations for the nine-day fair are also underway, with swings and shops being set up to welcome visitors. The Rath Yatra begins annually on the Dwitiya Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in Ashadha and concludes on the Ekadashi Tithi. During the ten-day period, a large number of devotees gather to pull the chariot of Lord Jagannath. The fair also offers devotees an opportunity to enjoy the festivities and purchase items. The Jagannath fair is scheduled to conclude on July 6th, the day of Devshayani Ekadashi. The concluding day is termed as Ghurti Rath Yatra.
