
A tragic incident has occurred in Gurugram, Haryana, where a police constable was found dead at the official residence of Haryana Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh. The constable was on duty in the guard room when the incident happened. A fellow officer found him unconscious, and authorities were immediately alerted.
The constable was rushed to a hospital, but doctors confirmed his passing. The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Jagbir Singh, hailing from Sukhpura village in Jhajjar district. Police reports indicate that Jagbir Singh was stationed at the entrance of Rao Narbir Singh’s bungalow for security purposes. The initial assessment suggests suicide, though a suicide note is missing, and the police are investigating the matter.
The incident took place in the Civil Lines area at the residence of Haryana’s Minister of Industries and Commerce, Rao Narbir Singh. According to police, the event happened around 2:30 AM.
SHO Krishna Kumar explained that the police suspect that the constable might have consumed a poisonous substance, resulting in his death. The post-mortem examination will reveal the precise cause. Police also noted that the family of the deceased has not yet filed a formal complaint or provided an official statement, and further actions will be contingent on the family’s account.
Jagbir Singh, the deceased, was a former soldier who joined the Haryana Police in 2014. He was assigned to provide security at Rao Narbir Singh’s residence after the minister assumed his position. Other police personnel also formed part of the security arrangements.
