The month of May brought welcome rainfall to many parts of the country, but June has ushered in a return to scorching temperatures, particularly in Delhi. The capital city recorded a high of 45 degrees Celsius on Monday, with unrelenting heat throughout the day. Clear skies and strong sunshine are contributing to the discomfort in the NCR. The forecast for today includes a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 29 degrees Celsius, with the possibility of dust storms and a heatwave expected to last until June 12. The Meteorological Department predicts rain to bring relief from June 13.

Uttar Pradesh is currently in the grip of a heatwave. Today, the weather is expected to remain dry across both the eastern and western regions of the state. An orange alert has been issued for several districts, indicating heatwave conditions. Rain is anticipated to return from tomorrow, with an alert issued for rain and thunderstorms in numerous districts on June 12.

Bihar residents are unlikely to find relief from the heat today. However, a change in weather is anticipated late tonight. Heavy rainfall is expected to accompany the monsoon, which is expected to arrive around June 15. Light rain is possible in certain districts tonight. Heavy showers are predicted across Bihar from tomorrow. Jharkhand is also expecting a shift in the weather today. Strong winds and the possibility of rain are forecast for several districts between today and June 14.

Rajasthan is once again battling intense heat. The heatwave has led to empty streets during the afternoon hours. The highest temperature recorded in the state was 47.3 degrees Celsius in Sri Ganganagar. The weather department forecasts dry conditions and a heatwave for much of western Rajasthan for the coming week. Light rain with thunderstorms is possible in the Kota and Bharatpur divisions on June 15-16. Haryana and Punjab are also bracing for a week of intense heat.
