The Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall in several districts of Jharkhand, prompting the issuance of a yellow alert. While the capital, Ranchi, is expected to experience only light rainfall, the alert covers multiple other districts. The districts of Garhwa, Chatra, Palamu, Latehar, Deoghar, Giridih, Dhanbad, Jamtara, Dumka, Godda, Sahibganj, and Pakur are under the yellow alert due to the likelihood of significant rainfall. Accompanying the rain, strong winds and lightning strikes are also possible in some areas. A cyclonic system affecting Bengal and Bihar is believed to be the cause of the impending heavy rainfall over the next day. Rainfall is expected in Ranchi on August 8. Rainfall in the last 24 hours has been: Godda (Pathargama) – 170.2 mm, Pakur – 81.4 mm, Dumka – 35.3 mm, Latehar – 54 mm, Medininagar – 10 mm, Bokaro – 3 mm, and Ranchi – 1 mm.
