Heavy rainfall over the past two days caused the collapse of a check dam located near Pahad Toli village in the Karra block on Sunday. This incident has resulted in substantial damage to the crops cultivated by several farmers in Pahad Toli village, leading to their destruction. Farmers claim that the contractor who built the check dam did not ensure proper construction of the guard wall. This failure is believed to be the reason why the check dam could not withstand the strong water current. There are reports that the check dam was constructed in a different location than planned. The farmers of Pahad Toli village have requested the administration to investigate the construction irregularities and provide appropriate compensation for their ruined crops.
