I am going through the most difficult days of my life.
The shadow of my father is gone,
The pillar of the soul of Jharkhand has fallen.
I didn’t just call him ‘Baba’.
He was my guide, the roots of my thoughts,
And the forest-like shadow
That saved thousands of Jharkhandis
From the sun and injustice.
My Baba’s beginning was very humble.
Born in that small house in Nemra village,
Where there was poverty, hunger, but also courage.
He lost his father in childhood.
The exploitation of the zamindars gave him a fire
That made him a lifelong fighter.
I saw him
plowing the fields,
sitting among the people,
He didn’t just give speeches,
he lived the people’s sorrows.
In childhood, when I asked him:
“Baba, why do people call you Dishom Guru?”
He would smile and say:
“Because son, I understood their suffering,
and made their fight my own.”
That title was not written in a book,
nor given by Parliament –
It came from the hearts of the people of Jharkhand.
‘Dishom’ means society,
‘Guru’ means the one who shows the way.
And honestly,
Baba didn’t just show us the way,
he taught us how to walk.
In childhood, I only saw him struggle, taking on the powerful.
I was afraid.
But Baba was never afraid.
He used to say:
“If standing against injustice is a crime,
Then I will be guilty again and again.”
Baba’s struggle cannot be understood by a book.
It was in his sweat, in his voice,
and in his worn heels covered by his chappals.
When Jharkhand state was formed,
his dream came true.
But he never considered power an achievement.
He said:
“This state is not a chair for me,
it’s the identity of my people.”
Today, Baba is not with us,
but his voice echoes within me.
I learned from you to fight, Baba,
not to surrender.
I learned from you to love Jharkhand
selflessly.
Now you are not here,
but you are in every path of Jharkhand.
In every beat of the Mandar,
in every field’s soil,
in every poor person’s eyes, you are.
You saw a dream,
now it is my promise.
I will not let Jharkhand bow down,
I will not let your name be erased.
Your struggle will not be in vain.
Baba, now you rest.
You have fulfilled your duty.
Now we must walk
in your footsteps.
Jharkhand will be indebted to you.
Me, your son,
I will keep your word.
Veer Shibu Zindabad – Zindabad, Zindabad
Dishom Guru Amar Rahen.
Jai Jharkhand, Jai Jai Jharkhand.
