In his address at the closing of the monsoon session in the Jharkhand Assembly, Chief Minister Hemant Soren targeted the central government, accusing them of attempting to control legal and constitutional bodies. He claimed that these bodies are being used to obstruct the state government’s activities.
Soren stated the government’s dedication to working for the welfare of all citizens, particularly those from the Dalit, backward, tribal, and farming communities. He contrasted the state’s government with those of the opposition in other states, criticizing the conditions of tribals and minorities in those regions. Referencing the situation in Ladakh, he criticized the central government for actions against Somon Wangchu.
The CM also raised concerns about new legislative amendments. He questioned their purpose and hinted at a hidden agenda. He stressed the importance of each vote in an election. He mentioned examples of electoral irregularities and criticized the lack of action against election commissioners.
Soren accused the opposition of engaging in deceptive practices. He questioned the progress of the PM’s plans. He pointed out how the state’s mineral resources have led to the enrichment of a select few, at the expense of the state’s overall development.
He also discussed the monitoring of mine auctions by the Prime Minister’s Office, suggesting that the focus is on mining over other forms of development. The CM also accused the opposition of political exploitation of the RIMS Two project and manipulating constitutional institutions with money, and forming fraudulent parties. He concluded by underlining Jharkhand’s resilience and vision and urged the opposition to work together for the state. Finally, he questioned the opposition’s intention to make the nation a ‘Vishwaguru’ or to enrich themselves and their business associates, and mentioned the Bharat Ratna proposal for Dishom Guru Shibu Soren by the Jharkhand Assembly.
