Police in Ranchi have arrested a married couple in connection with a sophisticated jewelry theft. The accused, Kavita Sharma and her husband Vikas Bahadur, are alleged to have stolen jewelry worth approximately 26 lakh rupees. The theft occurred on May 7th at the home of Rani Kumari, another CMPDIL employee, residing on Kanke Road in Ranchi. The stolen valuables were estimated to be worth 30 lakhs. After an FIR was filed, police investigated the case and identified Kavita Sharma, a neighbor and colleague of the victim, as the primary suspect. Sharma is believed to have sent the stolen jewels to a contact in Hyderabad and then used them to obtain a loan of 5.43 lakhs from Muthoot Finance. The police are actively working to apprehend other accomplices involved in this complex theft.
