The India Meteorological Department (IMD) projects typical weather patterns across the country. Delhi-NCR and other regions are now experiencing extreme heat. In Delhi, the capital city, the heat is back after recent rains. The weather department indicates no likelihood of rain in the upcoming days. Expect clear skies today, with a high of 40 degrees Celsius and a low of 26 degrees Celsius. The temperature may stay above 40 degrees Celsius from tomorrow through June 14. This implies Delhi residents should brace for five more hot days.
Uttar Pradesh is also enduring a severe heatwave. The state is experiencing intense daytime sun, leading to significant heat. The weather department foresees no rain in the state until June 11. From June 9 to 11, Bundelkhand, Vindhya, and adjacent areas could experience heat waves. From June 11, eastern Uttar Pradesh may see the activation of easterly winds, possibly leading to rain.
Bihar is expected to have dry weather in most districts today. Patna, the capital city, could reach a maximum of 37 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius. The weather department has issued a rain warning commencing on June 10. Before that, the state may encounter humid conditions. The maximum and minimum temperatures could rise by up to four degrees. In Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, and several other districts, light rain and thunderstorms are possible in the evening.
Severe heat is anticipated in certain states, while rainfall is expected in Northeast India. Heatwaves could hit western Rajasthan from June 8-11, Punjab and Haryana from June 9-11, and northern Madhya Pradesh on June 9 and 10. Starting June 10, South India and the Northeast are expected to experience heavy rainfall. Over the next week, light to moderate rain is predicted for most of Northeast India.
Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are currently experiencing intense heat. The mountainous regions of Uttarakhand are seeing strong sunshine, which is causing heat. The weather in the mountains is expected to shift rapidly. Rain is likely in multiple areas of Himachal Pradesh on June 12-13.
