Jamtara witnessed a significant security review late Tuesday night as Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Mehta conducted an impromptu inspection. The SP personally verified the security arrangements at essential facilities, including the Jamtara Divisional Jail and the Judicial Court, alongside checking the readiness of the night patrol, Tiger Mobile, PCR, and QRT teams. A serious security lapse came to light at the Judicial Court, where Constable Sikandar Rawani failed to be present at his assigned duty post. This absence from a high-security zone was considered a grave oversight. In response to this negligence, SP Mehta promptly implemented disciplinary measures, leading to the suspension of Constable Sikandar Rawani. The SP also meticulously reviewed the jail’s security and provided detailed instructions to the staff.
