New Delhi. Voting for 43 seats in the Jharkhand Assembly will be held on Wednesday. Also, voting for the first phase of the by -elections will also be held on Wednesday, September 13. Due to the Election Commission, this time the by -elections are also being held in two phases. In the first phase, by -elections will be held on Wednesday in 31 Vidhan Sabha of 10 states and Wayanad Lok Sabha seat of Kerala on Wednesday. The by -elections of 14 assembly and one Lok Sabha in four states with Palakkad Assembly of Kerala will be held on 20 September.
Both the candidates of the ruling Sikkim Revolutionary Front were declared unopposed in two assembly seats in Sikkim on 30 October. On the other hand, the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala is vacant by Rahul Gandhi’s resignation, where her sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is contesting for the first time on the Congress ticket. He competes with CPI’s Satyan Mokeri and BJP’s Navya Haridas.
Apart from this, out of the 10 states whose by -elections are being held for 31 assembly seats, 28 seats have been vacant due to MLAs becoming MPs in the Lok Sabha elections, two deaths and defections of one. Of these, four seats are reserved for scheduled castes and six seats for Scheduled Tribes. Opposition won 18 out of 31 seats. The Congress alone had nine seats. At the same time, the NDA won 11 seats. Seven of these MLAs were from BJP, while two seats were won by others.
However, 43 out of 81 seats in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly will be voted on Wednesday. A total of 28 seats in the state are reserved for Scheduled Tribes, out of which 20 will be voted in the first phase. The BJP had last won only two of these seats. However, BJP has the highest number of 36 candidates in 43 seats in 15 districts. His colleague is four of AJSU, two of Janata Dal U and one candidate of Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party. On the other hand, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is fighting 23 seats and Congress 17 seats. These partners RJD are fighting in five seats. Two of his candidates are contesting against the alliance. A total of 683 candidates are in the fray.
