
In a remarkable display of talent and dedication, a team from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya, Catha, Ramgarh, has clinched a silver medal at the state-level school band competition. The event, a key initiative of the Jharkhand Education Project Council and the Department of School Education and Literacy, was hosted at the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium in Khelgaon. Under the leadership of band captain Rani Kumari, the 25-member troupe delivered an outstanding performance in the pipe band competition, securing the second-place finish among participants from across Jharkhand. Their performance was marked by a spirited rendition of various patriotic melodies, showcasing exceptional coordination and musicality. District Education Officer Kumari Neelam celebrated this achievement as a moment of great pride for Ramgarh, commending the collaborative efforts of the education department, physical education instructors, and the dedicated students. District Education Superintendent Sanjeet Kumar expressed his admiration for the band’s performance and is optimistic about their future prospects, noting the positive impact of the ‘Khel Jharkhand’ program. He emphasized that this silver medal win will serve as a powerful motivator for aspiring students. Assistant District Project Officer Nalini Ranjan pointed out the significant contribution of Subedar Major Kulwant Singh from the Sikh Regimental Centre, Ramgarh, who provided intensive training to the team. This success is viewed as a foundational step towards achieving higher accolades, including gold medals, in upcoming band competitions. The department is committed to expanding band programs to all schools within the district to nurture young talent.
