
The Jharkhand state cabinet has approved the purchase of 1255 four-wheeler and 1697 two-wheeler vehicles to bolster police patrolling across the state’s police stations. These crucial decisions were made during a recent cabinet meeting. Furthermore, the cabinet decided to convene the third monsoon session of the Sixth Assembly from August 1st to August 7th, which will include five working days. The cabinet gave the go-ahead for this schedule.
The cabinet has authorized the purchase of Mahindra Bolero four-wheelers and TVS Apache motorcycles for police operations. This procurement is estimated to cost a total of ₹146,796,384.90. The cost for each Mahindra Bolero is set at ₹959,000, while each TVS Apache will cost ₹114,563. The vehicles will be purchased over a two-year period. The decision to acquire new vehicles comes in response to the poor condition of the existing fleet; 1079 four-wheelers and 1133 two-wheelers are considered beyond repair.
Other important decisions included a raise in dearness allowance for state employees and pensioners. The cabinet also approved alterations to guidelines for district planning, as well as a number of infrastructure development projects. The cabinet further addressed staffing matters, including disciplinary actions and appointments. Additional topics covered the National Pension Scheme, reimbursements for medical costs, and other operational and regulatory matters.
