The Hemant Soren government in Jharkhand is facing severe criticism from the opposition for its decision to cancel the JSSC Technical and Specific Eligibility Graduate Level Competitive Examination. Babulal Marandi, the state BJP president and Leader of the Opposition, described the move as a repeat ‘deception’ of the state’s unemployed youth, stating that the government’s actions have consistently undermined their aspirations.
The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission’s examination was abruptly halted, with authorities citing technical issues. Marandi expressed skepticism about the official reason, questioning if operational inefficiencies or deeper political considerations were at play. He emphasized that the students bore the brunt of this disruption, facing both financial losses and immense mental distress after preparing for the exam. Marandi contended that young people in Jharkhand have been subjected to a pattern of alleged governmental malfeasance for six years, pointing to instances of paper leaks that have damaged academic careers. He called for immediate action to fix the technical problems, conduct a fair and timely examination, and compensate candidates for their travel expenses to the examination venues.
