A man in Saraikela Kharsawa, Jharkhand, was found murdered, with his wife suspected of the crime and absconding with their three children and an unknown accomplice. The incident, which occurred in the Satbahni Dheerajganj area of Adityapur, involved the wife allegedly slitting her husband’s throat and setting him on fire before fleeing. Police are investigating the matter.
The victim, Rajesh Kumar Chaudhary, a resident of Giridih, was a lab technician at DD Steel in Kolabira. He had only begun living with his wife on Monday; previously, he lived alone.
Rajesh had initially resided with friends at Samridhi Apartment. On Monday, his wife and children arrived in Adityapur, urging him to live with them. He then rented a house from Gorango Mukhi. Neighbors reported frequent arguments between the couple. An unknown person visited the house on Thursday.
A shopkeeper mentioned Rajesh’s purchase of paneer and the arrival of his brother-in-law. It is believed the wife, along with the unknown individual, murdered Rajesh that night. They subsequently fled with the children. The police suspect the wife’s involvement because the door was locked from the outside after the incident. Neighbors alerted the authorities on Saturday due to a foul odor.
Rajesh’s brother, from Raipur, stated that Rajesh’s wife had visited Giridih, claiming she would no longer live with Rajesh due to his behavior, and brought the children from the in-laws’ house to Adityapur.
