Dr. Kushwaha Shashibhushan Mehta, a BJP MLA from Panki, Jharkhand, registered a complaint regarding the room allocation process at the Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi. Despite having confirmed bookings for two rooms, he was informed that only one was available. Unhappy with the response from the Bhawan authorities, the MLA staged a protest by sitting on the floor and having his breakfast. Mehta questioned the effective utilization of the Jharkhand Bhawan, a facility constructed at a considerable expense by the Jharkhand government. He appealed to Chief Minister Hemant Soren to address the issue, demanding accountability for the improper management. The modern Jharkhand Bhawan, inaugurated on September 3, 2024, is situated in Connaught Place, Delhi. The seven-story structure is equipped with contemporary amenities, featuring 50 guest rooms, suites for high-ranking officials, and special rooms for VVIPs. Built with an investment exceeding 100 crore rupees, the building spans a site area of 2808 square meters. It offers 45 guest rooms, 18 suite rooms, and 2 VVIP suites. The fifth and sixth floors house a total of 16 VIP suites, and the seventh floor is dedicated to the Chief Minister and Governor.
