
The weather department has issued a 72-hour heavy rainfall warning for Jharkhand. Ranchi is specifically highlighted, with heavy rain expected on July 6th. Other districts, including Lohardaga, Saraikela-Kharsawan, and East Singhbhum, are also under a heavy rainfall alert. Furthermore, Gumla, Simdega, Khunti, and West Singhbhum are at risk of very heavy rainfall, prompting an orange alert. The forecast suggests that rainfall will continue in different parts of the state until July 10th.
A yellow alert has been issued for Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, and Bokaro for July 5th, due to the likelihood of heavy rainfall. Cloudy conditions are expected in Ranchi on the same day. The IMD has also warned of heavy rainfall in Simdega, Khunti, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Saraikela-Kharsawan on July 7th, with yellow alerts in effect for these regions.
From June 1, 2025, Jharkhand has experienced a rainfall of 395 mm, exceeding the normal of 226.3 mm by 75%. Ranchi has recorded the highest rainfall, with 651.2 mm, significantly surpassing the average of 235 mm.
