Jharkhand is increasingly feeling the effects of winter, with cold conditions taking root and causing a steady decline in temperatures across its districts. This trend is impacting both the highs and lows of daily temperatures, signaling a definitive shift towards colder weather. While temporary atmospheric changes might cause slight deviations, the general forecast indicates a continuous drop. The meteorological department released information on Saturday confirming this seasonal transition. It was noted that certain districts are still experiencing maximum temperatures above 34°C, but these are predicted to diminish as the winter intensifies.
On Saturday, several districts reported a temperature drop of one to two degrees Celsius compared to the previous day. Ranchi observed a one-degree Celsius decrease in its minimum temperature. Daltonganj’s maximum temperature also saw a one-degree reduction, as did Bokaro’s minimum temperature. Chaibasa’s maximum temperature likewise fell by one degree Celsius, reflecting the broader cooling across the region.
The past 24-hour period also witnessed light to moderate showers in parts of the state. Manoharpur recorded the highest rainfall of 20 mm, with other areas including Sonua, Kurdeg, Adki, and Gumla receiving between 10 mm and 14 mm. Gonda registered the highest temperature at 34.4°C, while Latehar recorded the lowest at 18.2°C. Other key temperature readings from the period include Ranchi at 29.9°C, Jamshedpur at 34°C, Daltonganj at 33.4°C, Bokaro at 33.1°C, and Chaibasa at 34.4°C.
