A dramatic situation has unfolded in Jharkhand, where Amba Prasad, a former Congress MLA and current National Secretary of the party, has publicly expressed fears for her life. Prasad has accused a BJP MP from Andhra Pradesh and his brother of threatening her due to her opposition to a mining company operating in her constituency, Barkagaon.
In a press conference, Prasad detailed her concerns, stating that she believes her political career is being targeted. She alleges that the company, owned by the BJP MP’s brother, is involved in illegal mining activities. She further accused the local administration of being in collusion with the company, failing to take action against the alleged illegal activities.
She voiced her apprehension about the possibility of a similar fate to Surya Hansda, who was killed in Godda, and expressed fear for her personal safety, citing that her driver’s personal guard was arrested and 400 police personnel were sent to her house. She claims that she has reported this issue to the local police station.
