Hundreds of students gathered outside the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) office in Ranchi today, protesting the inordinate delay in the declaration of results for the Food Safety Officer (FSO) and Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) examinations. The Jharkhand State Student Association (JSSA), under the leadership of President Satyanarayan Shukla, organized a significant peaceful demonstration, expressing the widespread discontent among candidates who have been awaiting their results for nearly two years.
This prolonged waiting period has sparked outrage, with the JSSA accusing the JPSC of serious administrative apathy and policy failures that are jeopardizing the futures of thousands of applicants. Despite persistent efforts by the association, including multiple representations and meetings with JPSC officials over the past 24 months, students claim they have been consistently misled with vague assurances. The JSSA further alleges a deliberate attempt by the JPSC and the state government to shift blame, leaving candidates in a state of uncertainty.
“The JPSC’s inaction on the FSO and CDPO results for two years is an unacceptable gamble with the careers of millions. We are tired of their excuses; we demand results now,” stated President Satyanarayan Shukla. He emphasized the protesters’ resolve, saying, “This is a fight for justice and transparency. We will not back down until the results are published.” The demonstration is framed not just as a recruitment issue but as a fundamental battle for fairness in public service examinations.
The protest witnessed an impressive display of unity, with students from all 24 districts of Jharkhand participating. The collective voice of the students was clear: “Release the FSO-CDPO results now, or face the consequences!” The JSSA has formally submitted a list of five critical demands to the commission. These include the immediate publication of FSO and CDPO results, a transparent official inquiry into the causes of the delay, the designation of accountability for the concerned officials, a commitment to full transparency in result declaration and evaluation, and the implementation of defined timelines for all future examinations.
Looking ahead, the JSSA has announced its intention to intensify the movement and expand its protest activities until the results are finally released. The association remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding student interests and has warned the JPSC that failure to act will result in further escalation.
