The Jivitputrika festival was marked with joyous celebrations and religious fervor in Khunti district on Sunday. Mothers observed a stringent 24-hour fast without water and performed special pujas to invoke blessings for the long lives and prosperity of their children. The festival saw the installation of sacred peepal tree branches in homes across various localities such as Karra Road, Torpa Road, and surrounding areas, facilitating collective worship. Women enthusiastically participated in the puja, seeking divine grace for their children’s happiness and health. Similar celebrations and rituals were observed in other areas of the district, including Torpa, Karra, Rania, Murhu, and Arki.
