The Khunti district is reeling from the murder of Balram Munda, the Gram Pradhan of Kadehtubid village and a member of the BJP. The attack, which occurred late Saturday night, involved a group of armed individuals who stormed Munda’s residence and inflicted fatal injuries. Munda’s nephew, Achu Munda, was also injured in the incident and is currently receiving medical attention. According to eyewitness accounts, the attackers, armed with firearms and other weapons, directly targeted Munda, shouting accusations related to his role as village head and his interactions with law enforcement. Following the murder, the assailants ransacked the house, causing extensive damage before escaping. Police authorities are actively investigating the crime, having taken the body into custody for a post-mortem examination and detaining several individuals for questioning. The police are conducting raids to apprehend all those involved. The BJP has expressed its deep condolences and support for the bereaved family.
