An employee of the Koderma Subdivisional Office died suddenly from cardiac arrest during his work hours on Thursday evening. The official, identified as Mahesh Kumar, aged 45, was a resident of Koderma and originally from Hazaribagh. At approximately 8 PM, as other staff were preparing to leave, they found Mahesh missing. His responsibility was to lock the office. A search began, and his phone was located ringing inside an office room. Colleagues assumed he had left for a personal emergency, leaving his phone behind. An employee named Golu Sinha locked the main door and delivered the phone to Mahesh’s wife. Concerned by his prolonged absence, his wife and son visited the Subdivisional Magistrate’s residence. The guard on duty provided a spare key, and they went to the office to search for Mahesh. He was found unconscious in the chamber of the Subdivisional Magistrate. He was quickly taken to Sadar Hospital, where he was declared deceased by attending physicians. Subdivisional Magistrate Ria Singh was informed and visited the hospital to offer support to Mahesh’s family. Reviewing CCTV footage on Friday morning indicated that Mahesh entered the SDO’s chamber around 7 PM and did not leave it. Deputy Commissioner Rituraj also visited the Sadar Hospital to express his sympathies to the bereaved family. Mahesh Kumar had been working at the Subdivisional Office since 2021 and was living in Koderma with his wife and two children.
