
A man in Sahibganj, Jharkhand, is dealing with the repercussions of a late-night encounter. He was caught with a married woman, who is the mother of four children. The situation escalated when villagers discovered them. Initially, they were restrained with ropes. The man was reportedly beaten unconscious, and the village council decided on a 300,000-rupee fine. Police were called and intervened.
The event happened in Basko village, under the jurisdiction of the Boriyo police station. The woman, around 30 years old and part of the tribal community, was found with the man late on Monday night. The man, identified as Umesh Singh (22), a tempo driver from the nearby village of Vangawa, was caught and brought before the village leader. After being tied up for about ten hours, the panchayat met and immediately issued the fine. The video of the incident has spread on social media.
The woman’s husband had already suspected the affair. The police arrived to release the couple. According to SDPO Kishore Tirkey, no formal complaint has been filed, and the police are investigating.
