A husband in Jharkhand’s Gumla district has been accused of murdering his wife’s lover with an axe. The tragic event occurred after the husband, identified as Kunwar Nayak, discovered his wife’s affair with Bittu Nayak. Following the crime, both Kunwar Nayak and his wife absconded, and the Palakot police station is now handling the investigation.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the illicit relationship between Bittu Nayak and the wife of Kunwar Nayak had been ongoing. Kunwar Nayak had previously cautioned Bittu Nayak about the affair. However, these warnings were ignored, and the relationship continued, causing the affair to become common knowledge within the village.
The situation escalated when Kunwar Nayak found his wife and Bittu Nayak together. Consumed by anger, he used an axe, kept within the house, to attack and kill Bittu Nayak. Following the murder, Kunwar Nayak left the scene with his wife, evading law enforcement.
This incident echoes a comparable occurrence in Khunti, where a woman, named Chandu Soy, was involved in a similar act, murdering her husband upon discovering another woman in their household.
