Jharkhand marked a decade of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) on Wednesday. To celebrate this, the government has introduced PM Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 in the state. Programs took place in all of the state’s urban bodies.
Nancy Sahay, the Director of the Directorate of Urban Administration, announced the launch. She sent her best wishes to the beneficiaries and the urban bodies. According to her, the new phase is meant for the urban homeless in the state.
To apply, citizens must visit pmaymis.gov.in. They should select ‘Citizen Assessment,’ followed by ‘Apply Online.’ After that, applicants must enter their Aadhaar number and verify with an OTP. They must then fill out the application form with details such as name, address, income, and family information. Applicants also need to upload documents and download a receipt. Finally, they will need to submit the hard copy of the documents to the municipal corporation office.
Required documents for applying for PM Awas Yojana include an Aadhaar card, ration card, bank passbook, income certificate, passport-size photo, land documents (if applicable), and a mobile number linked to the applicant’s Aadhaar.
Thousands of homeless people in urban Jharkhand have received permanent housing over the past decade. Jharkhand is at the forefront of the ‘Beneficiary-led individual house construction’ component of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
