The High Court has provided substantial relief to Nishikant Dubey, the BJP Member of Parliament for Godda, by quashing a criminal case lodged against him in Deoghar. The FIR, registered under number 281/23 at the Manoharpur police station, was challenged by Dubey through a criminal writ petition filed in the High Court. The court’s decision comes after a detailed hearing.
Justice Anil Kumar Choudhary’s bench heard the arguments presented by Dubey’s legal counsel, including senior advocates Ajit Kumar, Parth Jalan, and Smita Sinha. The case involved accusations that Dubey assaulted an alleged cattle smuggler. With the High Court’s directive to cancel the FIR, MP Dubey has been cleared of these charges and finds significant legal respite.
