A late-night fire in Ghodabandha, East Singhbhum, has left a trail of destruction, with several vehicles completely destroyed outside an Ola Service Center. The incident, which began with a single car catching fire, swiftly escalated, consuming nearby parked vehicles in its destructive path. The alarming speed of the fire forced residents from their homes, who then attempted to douse the flames themselves. Emergency services were alerted and quickly arrived at the scene. Firefighters and police collaborated in a challenging operation to suppress the blaze, which was finally contained after extensive efforts late into the night. The aftermath has seen considerable anger from the local population. Residents claim that the owner of the Ola Service Center, Tapas Das, has been illegally using forest department land and adjacent roadside spaces for vehicle parking, allegedly with the knowledge of the company. They assert that previous complaints filed with forest officials and the administration yielded no results, leading to this dangerous situation. A critical concern raised by locals is the proximity of a high-voltage transformer to the parking lot, highlighting the potential for a massive explosion and severe loss of life had the fire spread further.
