In a significant development for Palamu, Deputy Commissioner Samira S presided over a crucial review meeting on Monday, evaluating the pace of key road construction projects and the operational status of local coal mines. The discussions encompassed major infrastructure arteries, including NH 75, the four-lane highway expansion, and associated structures like Right of Way (RoW) and Road Over Bridges (RoBs). A substantial portion of the meeting was dedicated to a deep dive into land acquisition and compensation processes for National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) initiatives. The DC meticulously examined factors such as the count of awards, the issuance and pendency of Land Possession Certificates (LPCs), and the status of compensation payments to landowners. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that Land Acquisition (LA) court matters are handled according to regulations. The DC instructed Circle Officers (COs) and Land Acquisition Officers (LAOs) to maintain open lines of communication and to prioritize addressing tenant concerns effectively. The review revealed that certain project delays were attributed to agencies, and the DC urged them to enhance their procedural workflows. In a separate segment, DC Samira S met with representatives of the district’s operational coal mines to address their concerns. Pending issues at the block and district levels were discussed, with immediate interventions facilitated through discussions with the respective Circle Officers. Trimumula Mines was given a strict deadline of ten days to complete its pending land schedule tasks, with the Circle Officer tasked to provide the necessary assistance. Issues concerning No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for explosives were also raised by mining representatives, alongside a review of the NOC for GM Jayceeland. The Deputy Commissioner underscored that robust coal mining activities are vital for Palamu’s development, advocating for a spirit of collaboration between mine operators and the administration.
