A potentially devastating accident was narrowly avoided late Saturday at the Babantoli intersection on the Tundi main road. An out-of-control trailer carrying iron bars crashed into a roadside electricity pole. The thunderous sound of the collision alerted residents, who discovered the trailer dangerously close to the pole. The impact dislodged and completely wrecked two transformers. Additionally, a nearby electronics shop was damaged. The situation was mitigated by the fact that the area’s electricity supply was already offline, preventing a much larger disaster. Had power been flowing, the consequences could have been dire. Concerned locals alerted the electricity board, which then suspended power to the entire line as a safety measure. The trailer driver managed to escape the scene following the mishap. The trailer suffered catastrophic damage and was traveling towards Giridih.
