President Droupadi Murmu has once again demonstrated her deep connection with the armed forces by participating in a dived sortie aboard the Indian Navy’s indigenously built Kalvari-class submarine, INS Vaghsheer. The submarine journey took place off the Western Seaboard, originating from the Karwar Naval Base in Karnataka. This significant undertaking places her in elite company, as only one other Indian President has experienced such an underwater deployment.
During her time on INS Vaghsheer, President Murmu received detailed briefings on the submarine force’s critical role in national maritime security.
