
The final rites for Dishom Guru concluded with the immersion of his ashes in the Damodar River at Rajarappa on Sunday. Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his family were present at the Rajarappa temple to oversee the sacred ceremony. The Chief Minister immersed the ashes of his father, Shibu Soren, a key figure in the formation of Jharkhand. The rituals were conducted according to traditional Santhali customs, demonstrating respect for the deceased. Basant Soren, the Chief Minister’s brother, along with the son and other family members were present to pay their respects. The ceremony was held in Rajarappa after the completion of the twelve-day mourning period. The immersion took place with reverence on the Damodar River’s banks. The family also followed other religious practices after the immersion.
