
Following the death of four workers in a mining incident at the Karma project in Ramgarh, authorities have agreed to provide ₹8 lakh in compensation to the affected families. The incident, which occurred during illegal mining activities, led to significant protests and demands for justice from the local community. After negotiations that extended late into the night, the CCL management and the district administration reached an agreement. Each family will receive ₹1.70 lakh from CCL and ₹30,000 from the district administration. Moreover, a member of each victim’s family will be offered employment through outsourcing. The four miners who died were identified as Mo. Imtiyaz, Rameswar Manjhi, Wakil Karmali, and Nirmal Munda. The agreement was formalized with signatures from the families and CCL representatives, leading to the end of the protests. The incident occurred when a large section of the coal mine caved in during illegal mining.
