
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in Ranchi on July 10th to chair the Eastern Zonal Council meeting at Hotel Radisson Blu. Preparations are underway by the state government, with a visit from a Union Home Ministry official, Manoj Kejriwal, to oversee the arrangements. Traffic adjustments have been implemented in anticipation of the meeting.
The Jharkhand government will put forth several key requests to the central government during the 27th meeting. These include financial claims, special grants, and the re-establishment of essential funds. Also on the agenda are discussions with Bihar and West Bengal, alongside a review of the previous meeting’s outcomes.
The Jharkhand government will request outstanding dues from coal companies, the Jal Jeevan Mission, and for pensions. They will also seek special central aid for development projects in Naxal-affected areas and the restoration of the SRE fund in previously affected districts. Deliberations will cover property and asset division with Bihar and water-sharing agreements with West Bengal.
The meeting will include 68 attendees, among them Chief Minister Hemant Soren and other prominent figures from Jharkhand, along with representatives from Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal, including their respective Chief Ministers and ministers.
