Police investigating the murder of a woman in Ranchi have made significant discoveries, revealing a 15-year-long illicit relationship that served as the backdrop to the crime. Danish Qureshi, the primary suspect and alleged lover of the victim, and his accomplice, Mohammad Saud Qazi, are now in custody. Danish resides in Ranchi, while Qazi is from the Jhalda region of West Bengal. Law enforcement has also confiscated a black Scorpio vehicle believed to be involved in the murder.
The woman was murdered on August 24th within the Tamar police jurisdiction in Ranchi. The perpetrators attempted to disguise the crime as a road accident, deliberately running over the body with a vehicle.
On August 25th, Kareena Devi reported her missing mother to the Tamar police station. Her mother, who had lived with Naseem Qureshi for 15 years after the death of her father, had gone to Naseem’s house on August 24th and never returned. The victim’s mobile phone was also switched off.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, authorities formed a special team led by the Bundu DSP, under the supervision of the Ranchi SSP. This team, including the Tamar police station in-charge, employed technical methods to investigate. The investigation led to the detention of Danish Qureshi, the son of Naseem Qureshi, and Mohammad Saud Qazi. Both suspects confessed their involvement after rigorous interrogation.
Interrogation revealed that the deceased had been involved in an illicit relationship with Danish’s father, Naseem Qureshi, for fifteen years. She repeatedly requested money from Naseem, causing strain within the family. Consequently, Danish, his mother, and father conspired to eliminate her. Naseem, along with his wife and son, departed for Hajj on August 18th.
On August 24th, the woman visited their home to ask for money. Danish Qureshi and Saud Qazi then took her in a black Scorpio, drove her to Tatisilve, and forced her to consume alcohol. They then killed her in a secluded area and left her body on the road, running over it with the vehicle to make it appear accidental.
