With the arrival of the southwest monsoon in Jharkhand, Ranchi braces for heavy rainfall, leading to a shutdown of all schools. The closure order, a directive from the District Magistrate, covers all categories of schools: government, aided (including minority), and private institutions from KG to Class 12. The IMD has issued a red alert, warning of severe weather conditions. The authorities have instructed all relevant officials to ensure the order’s enforcement and any failure to comply would result in consequences under the Disaster Management Act 2005. The order was issued in anticipation of the rainfall and the potential for the disruption of essential services, including transportation and power.
