A senior police official in Ranchi, Zonal Inspector General Manoj Kaushik, has suspended Brahmdev Prasad, the Station Chief of Argodah Police Station. The decision was made based on findings related to an alleged incident where a youth was detained and assaulted in the police station’s lock-up. This marks a critical step in the investigation into custodial violence. Previously, Sub-Inspector Diwakar Singh was suspended by the Senior Superintendent of Police. Information gathered and compiled in a report about the Station Chief was then presented to the Zonal IG, leading to the current suspension. Authorities aim to reinforce the principle of zero tolerance for such alleged abuses of power.
