
Ranchi’s Cambridge Institute of Technology marked the beginning of its much-anticipated Annual Sports Meet, ‘Varchasva 2025,’ on Thursday with a grand opening ceremony. The event was officially launched by Chief Guest Deputy Registrar Manish Nath, who performed the ribbon-cutting after a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, preceded by auspicious prayers and a havan.
The sports meet is set to span five days, concluding on December 23rd, and will feature a packed schedule of competitions. Students will vie for honors in popular sports such as cricket, football, badminton, basketball, kabaddi, volleyball, and kho-kho, as well as carrom and athletics. A total of 1500 students from CIT and the Cambridge Institute of Polytechnic are actively participating, making it a large-scale collegiate sporting event.
Post-inauguration, Principal Dr. L. Ranganathan led the participants in taking an oath emphasizing sportsmanship and camaraderie. Vice-Principal Prof. Rasika Navneet Singh delivered an inspiring speech, reminding students that every competition offers lessons, and that a positive attitude towards both victory and defeat is crucial for growth. She also underscored the importance of maintaining strong bonds of friendship.
The celebrations included a symbolic torch relay by students and an impressive fireworks display. The inauguration was attended by distinguished guests including Dr. Pallavi Singh, Sunita Nath, Dr. D.K. Singh, Dr. N.K. Yadav, Sangeeta Singh, Prof. Deepak Kumar Verma, Prof. Ankit Kumar Singh, Prof. Prashank Mani, Anwar Alam, and numerous faculty and departmental heads.
