Prompted by a news report in ‘Prabhat Khabar’, the Pahari Mandir in Ranchi is undergoing repairs to address its deteriorating condition. The district administration and the Pahari Mandir Development Committee have swiftly mobilized, initiating renovation work on Monday. The ongoing efforts include closing rat burrows and renewing the floor of the sanctum sanctorum. A notable aspect of this initiative is the voluntary contribution of Pahan women from the Bedo region. Officials, including DRDA Director Sudarshan Murmu, and other specialists, conducted an inspection of the repair work to assess its quality and evaluate damaged portions of the temple and surrounding areas. The news report, which highlighted the temple’s needs, spurred immediate action. The main temple was temporarily closed for two days to facilitate the renovation efforts, causing devotees to offer prayers at the entrance. SDO Utkarsh Kumar confirmed the administration’s focus on preserving the temple, with expert advice being considered. Pahan women are dedicating their time and labor to this sacred cause, with many expressing their lifelong commitment to serving Lord Shiva.
