The Ghurti Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is happening on July 6, marking the return of the deities. Today, Lord Jagannath, along with his siblings, will come back to the main temple from Mausi Badi. The deities had initially left the Shreemandir on June 27th, embarking on a nine-day sojourn, and this return journey is known as the Ghurti Rath Yatra. Devotees eagerly await this event, with large crowds gathering to pull the chariot ropes.
The administration in Ranchi has made all the necessary arrangements for the event. Extra security forces have been stationed to manage the expected large gathering. CCTV cameras and drones will be used to monitor the fair area. The Ghurti Rath Yatra also signifies the end of the fair. Rituals at Mausi Badi started at 5 AM this morning. Darshan at Mausi Badi will be stopped around 2:50 PM. Afterwards, the idols will be moved to the chariot, and the Rath Yatra will proceed to the main temple at 4 PM. The deities are scheduled to enter the main temple from the chariot by 6:00 PM. Before this, special darshan for women on the chariot has been arranged from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The deities will be installed in the main temple by 7 PM today. Following this, a Maha Aarti will be performed, and the temple doors will be closed after special offerings. The Rath Yatra is a representation of devotion, tradition, and joy associated with Lord Jagannath.
