An intense road accident unfolded near Jail Chowk in the Sakchi police station area of East Singhbhum on Thursday afternoon, leaving three individuals injured. The incident involved a forceful collision between two cars. One car, driven by a local resident with his wife as a passenger, was traveling from the Old Court Road towards Jail Chowk. Suddenly, a high-speed Tata Tiago from West Bengal swerved into their lane, resulting in a direct impact. The collision was severe enough to deploy the airbags in both cars, a crucial factor that prevented more serious harm. Both vehicles suffered substantial damage to their front ends, as observed by those present. The injured individuals included the wife of the first driver, a female passenger in the second car, and a young male passenger. Bystanders quickly provided assistance, ensuring the injured woman and young man were transported to Tata Main Hospital for urgent medical care. The driver’s wife was treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital and subsequently discharged. Sakchi police officers arrived swiftly, managed the scene by relocating the damaged cars to enable traffic movement, and initiated a formal investigation into the cause of the crash. The driver involved highlighted the critical role of the airbags, stating that they opened immediately upon impact, saving them from severe injuries.
