
Ranchi witnessed the Vijaya Dashami celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, with a focus on future community engagement. Addressing the event, RSS leader Alok Kumar announced a significant initiative for the Sangh’s centenary year. He stated that the next 15 to 20 years will see volunteers working towards five key societal changes aimed at fostering a stronger, more self-reliant, and equitable society. Kumar underscored that the ideal of a unified nation is achievable only when equality permeates all segments of society. He also addressed environmental concerns, stating that environmental protection is a collective responsibility. He further elaborated on the significance of the family as the core of society, emphasizing that strong, cultured families are vital for a robust nation. Kumar promoted the use of local products, explaining that ‘Vocal for Local’ is critical for India’s economic advancement. He described an aware citizen as one who fulfills their obligations, with rights being a natural consequence. Kumar drew upon the historical relevance of Vijaya Dashami, urging the attendees to overcome personal negativity and to utilize their knowledge and resources for social good. As part of the centenary year initiative, Sangh volunteers will be engaging in extensive door-to-door contact, focusing on education, patriotism, disaster preparedness, and social awareness. The event included a disciplined march by volunteers in heavy rain and a traditional weapons worship ceremony, symbolizing a balance of power and restraint. The event was attended by several dignitaries.
