Northern India is currently experiencing a severe heatwave, with Delhi and surrounding areas enduring extremely high temperatures. The monsoon’s progress has been sluggish, resulting in temperatures surpassing 45 degrees Celsius in many areas. The heat is so intense in Delhi that cooling systems are struggling to cope. Uttar Pradesh is also feeling the heat.
Today, Delhi is expected to have a maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius. The day will likely bring dusty winds and heat waves. However, the weather is forecast to change this evening, with thunderstorms and light rain expected late at night. This could be followed by rain from June 13-16, providing a significant relief from the heat for Delhi NCR residents.
In Uttar Pradesh, some areas might receive light showers, while others could face heat waves. The monsoon is expected to reach UP by June 15, which should bring some relief.
Meanwhile, Bihar saw heavy rainfall in some districts, but South Bihar continues to experience intense heat. Jharkhand is expected to have thunderstorms and strong winds. Rajasthan is under a severe heatwave, but weather changes are anticipated soon. Madhya Pradesh has issued heatwave alerts in several districts.
Heavy rainfall is predicted for parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
