Ranchi: Marking the 69th Mahaparinirvan Diwas of the revered Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, a significant memorial gathering was held at Ambedkar Chowk in Doranda, Ranchi. Dr. Ambedkar’s enduring legacy as a champion of social justice, equality, and human rights was central to the proceedings. The assembled individuals pledged to strengthen the ongoing movement for a society where the rights, dignity, and opportunities of the last person are secured. The Adivasi-Moolvasi Janadhikar Manch organized the tribute, where Dr. Ambedkar’s statue was adorned with garlands. Vijay Shankar Nayak, a key leader of the Manch, highlighted the systemic denial of constitutional rights to Adivasi, Dalit, and other disadvantaged groups in Jharkhand. He demanded that the government prioritize education, employment, and social security as guaranteed rights, enforce tribal land rights rigorously, expedite action against caste-based discrimination, and integrate the principles of equality and justice into the administrative framework. Nayak articulated that Dr. Ambedkar’s vision is achievable only when every individual enjoys their rightful place in society, emphasizing that the struggle continues and requires sustained commitment. He further noted that Dr. Ambedkar provided a voice and a sense of dignity to millions, and his philosophy continues to inspire the pursuit of equality, freedom, and brotherhood. The gathering resolved to work collectively to realize Dr. Ambedkar’s ideal India. The commemoration concluded with a moment of silence to honor his memory and a solemn pledge to protect the Constitution and social justice, all within a peaceful and respectful environment.
