The East Singhbhum district has launched a special campaign to combat the use of banned substances, as part of a state-wide initiative by the government. The primary goal is to promote awareness and encourage people to abstain from drugs throughout the district. The Deputy Commissioner, Karn Satyarthi, initiated the campaign by sending off an awareness chariot from the Collectorate. This chariot will visit various blocks within the district, informing people about the harmful effects of drug use. The Deputy Commissioner also led a pledge for abstinence among the officials and staff present at the Collectorate. He stressed that drugs negatively impact an individual’s health, their future, their family, and the broader community. He urged all sections of society to participate in creating a drug-free environment. The public is encouraged to actively support the campaign and to share awareness among their acquaintances. The special campaign, which is scheduled from June 10 to June 26, 2025, will incorporate several awareness programs to inform the public about the negative consequences of drug usage.
