
Godda district emerged as the champion of the 4th Jharkhand State Taekwondo Championship, dominating the medal table with a remarkable collection of 16 gold, 19 silver, and 8 bronze medals. The prestigious competition, held over three days, culminated in Godda being awarded the overall championship trophy.
Deoghar secured a commendable second place, amassing 8 gold, 7 silver, and 12 bronze medals. Other districts contributing to the competitive spirit included Hazaribagh with 10 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze; Dhanbad with 7 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze; East Singhbhum with 4 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze; Chatra with 4 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze; Ranchi with 4 gold and 2 silver; and Bokaro with 5 gold and 1 silver.
More than 250 athletes from across Jharkhand participated, showcasing their taekwondo prowess. The closing ceremony featured the presentation of awards by Neeraj Kumar, Secretary of the Jharkhand Taekwondo Association. He encouraged the athletes, stressing the integral role of sports in developing discipline, self-assurance, and health. The event served as a vital platform for young athletes to hone their competitive edge and display their technical expertise, much to the delight of the assembled crowd. The championship was a testament to the growing talent in Jharkhand taekwondo.
