Jamaluddin Ansari, a para-teacher from Naudiha village in Palamu, is in critical condition after being shot by unknown assailants on Wednesday night. After receiving initial treatment at MMC Hospital, he was referred to Ranchi. His family admitted him to the private Medanta hospital on Thursday, bypassing RIMS. Medical professionals are working to remove a projectile that became lodged in his lungs. Sources indicate that a protracted land dispute is the suspected motive behind the shooting. Ansari had apparently informed police about the contentious land dealings. In connection with the incident, police have brought several individuals to the station for questioning as they attempt to ascertain the facts. The attack took place as Ansari was returning home from his grocery store. He was ambushed near a building by two assailants who opened fire. He sustained injuries to his right arm and abdomen. His preliminary medical care was administered at the Chhatarpur Sub-divisional Hospital, followed by a brief stay at MMC Hospital, from where his critical state necessitated transfer to Ranchi. Ansari’s daughter, who was present at home, reported seeing the attackers but could not provide identification.
