The Governor was apprised of potential illegal religious conversions by a tribal delegation from the Jharkhand Adivasi Sarna Vikas Samiti. They presented a memorandum to Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, detailing their concerns. The group pointed to a year-long operation by the Jharkhand Mahabhishek Church in Chand village, Tupu-dana, which allegedly lacks administrative consent. This church, they claim, is promoting prayer to Jesus as a cure for serious conditions like blindness, lameness, and even AIDS, with the underlying motive of converting individuals. The committee expressed alarm that such events, potentially fostering superstition, are being organized without proper oversight.
