Following the death of Shibu Soren, the founding figure of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, tributes have been pouring in, with calls for the Bharat Ratna intensifying. Minister Irfan Ansari, while paying his respects, highlighted Soren’s significant contributions and called upon the President to award him the prestigious honor. Ansari praised Soren’s revolutionary nature and his dedication to the impoverished. Soren, who had been ailing for a while, passed away at the age of 81. His absence is being mourned in Jharkhand, with Ansari expressing that the loss would be keenly felt. Ansari further recognized the determination of Soren’s family in facing the challenges that lie ahead. He reiterated his demand for the Bharat Ratna, emphasizing Soren’s role as an advocate for the poor and his commitment to social justice. He added that Soren was a grassroots leader, and his life was dedicated to fighting for the marginalized, particularly the tribal communities.
